Program
Focusing
Families Children’s Program offers individual and group counseling
for children ages (4-18) who have witnessed, or who are victims
of family violence, abuse, and sexual assault. Education, advocacy,
crisis intervention and prevention, support, and accompaniment is
also provided to children and their families. The Children’s
Program also provides a School Based Prevention Program called “Building
Healthy Relationships”, which offers children and teens information
on skills building, peer pressure, abuse, violence, choices and
accountability, how to control and express anger and healthy communication.

abuse is any harm or threatened harm to a child’s health
or welfare that occurs through no accidental physical or mental
injury, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or maltreatment and
neglect.
- Facts:
approximately 13,700 children are abused and neglected every day.
4 children die from child abuse every day. Child abuse is 15 times
more likely to occur in families
where Family Violence is present. About 44% of rape victims are
under the age of 18.
